Why did you choose the paralegal program? I have an associate degree in Public Law from my country, Burkina-Faso. I came here for a master’s degree in international law, and I found out that Fox Valley Technical College had a variety of interesting programs that do not take too long to graduate from. I also knew I could get a quality education, and enter the workplace in less time than attending a college that might take me more than three years.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding? Many facets of what I am learning in an American college will benefit me when I go back to my home country. The legal system in Burkina-Faso is not up to date with processes, and it is very different from the legal system in the United States. This career field might help me bring some improvement to my country’s legal system someday.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College? I chose Fox Valley Technical College because it has a variety of interesting programs to choose from. The tuition at Fox Valley Technical College compared to other colleges is less expensive. Also, the quality of education is high, and leads to workplace in less time than four-year college.

How did Fox Valley Technical College help you change your life? Attending Fox Valley Technical College has impacted my life in many ways. I am lucky to have such great instructors who have taught me more than I expected. I also made lots of good friends that make me feel at home. With studying at Fox Valley Technical College, I have a safe place to prepare for my future and fulfill my goals.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation? After my graduation, I would like to be an assistant to a lawyer. I would like to work with a lawyer, helping with the paperwork and studying cases of litigation. I have always been passionate about defending human rights.
