MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Seventy five Memphis-area high school students got a chance to work their science minds at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on Thursday.

The inaugural Science Scholars of Tomorrow Symposium showed off how St. Jude researchers use the scientific method.

Students were nominated by their science teachers for showing interest in science and pursuing science-related careers and selected by a committee of St. Jude faculty and staff.

The day-long event included tours of labs and allowed students to interact with scientists and clinicians. Students heard case studies from faculty members, listened to staff presentations, attended a career panel and had lunch with St. Jude staff.
