Rory McIlroy has spoken about his wedding to Erica Stoll for the first time saying it was the "best weekend of my life".
The 27-year-old golfer got married to the Erica (29) in an intimate ceremony on the grounds of Ashford Castle last month.
McIlroy's management team worked overtime to ensure the wedding details remained top secret from the large media entourage which descended on Cong, Co Mayo.

Speaking before The Players championship in Florida on Tuesday McIlroy was asked about the past exciting couple of weeks.
McIlroy held his hand up and showed his wedding ring as he described the events.
He described his wedding as "the best weekend of his life" and that they were happy to keep it private.
He said: "I got married and went on honeymoon and enjoyed that.
"I've been trying to lose a bit of weight before this week and try to shed a few pounds before here.

He added: "Everything has been great. I feel like my game is in good shape."
Speaking about the wedding he said it was the "best weekend of my life".
He said: "It was awesome, it was the best weekend of my life and hopefully of Erica's aswell.
"It was really cool. We tried to keep it as private as possible, it was between our friends and families and we didn't really want anything else.
"It was a weekend of celebrations. We had a welcome reception on the Friday, the whole wedding day on the Saturday and a farewell brunch on Sunday. We spent three really nice days days with the people we cherish the most and that was really special."
The Holywood golfer was joined by a host of top names and celebrities including One Direction's Niall Horan, along with fellow player Sergio Garcia at his wedding.
The wedding in the 13th century castle was said to be a who's who of Irish sport, showbusiness and financial worlds, with the 200-plus wedding guests entertained by US pop star Stevie Wonder.
Three separate layers of security were in place around the estate including perimeter patrols.
Special measures were also taken to prevent drones equipped with cameras from flying over the estate.
