Okay, there are certain things in this life a girl just shouldn’t have to deal with. Changing flat tires for instance. Radiators overheating, yes. A busted pipe. Programming the remote control. But being blindsided like that wasn’t fair at all. When the door closed between them, Maggie forced herself to breathe in a deep inhale. It did nothing at all to stop the swimming of her thoughts or the racing of her heart, but at that point anything was worth a try.

Showing up in the kitchen at breakfast for no reason was one thing. Showing up when she was in her oldest pajamas with the rip on one side was quite another. Her hand went up to her hair, and she raked her fingers through it extra hard. There was no telling how she looked, but how he looked? Wow, was he easy on the eyes. Not to even mention how heart-stoppingly handsome he was minus the hat and the bandana. Dark hair, cropped extra short, and that face, and that smile. Ugh. It just wasn’t fair.

She rolled her eyes so she was looking up at the ceiling in desperation. “God, listen to me. I do not need to fall for this guy. I don’t need him to keep showing up like this. Please. Please. I’m asking You…”

My books tend to run the gamut of sub-genres within the Christian/Inspirational romance novel genre. Deep in the Heart is one of the more truly Christian romance novels I have available. This story has the characters going to church, complete with sermons, and praying. In Maggie's world, God is the only thing keeping her together. We don't get ten paragraphs into the story before she's praying, and truly she never really stops. God is in every way her best friend. He is Who she goes to when things are falling apart around her. So if you like a lot of Christian in your romance novels, this is the book for you. However, be aware that Keith is a pretty lost and worldly soul. He is not perfect, and it's only Maggie's love and prayers that bring him back from the brink of life of misery. These are real-to-life characters with real problems and character flaws, but at every turn, they are searching for God and learning to put their faith in Him. Deep in the Heart is truly a memorable Contemporary Christian Romance Novel.

Enjoyed this book by Staci Stallings. It was the first I had read anything by this author she did a great job. This story about Keith and Maggie. Maggie shows up at the Ayers estate for a nanny job. She first meets Keith coming down the stairs in the mansion by tripping and falling into him. Thinking he is just hired help and not her new boss son she doesn't think much of it. She goes with her new boss wife to meet the kids she falls in love with them right off and they with her. Peter who is four and Bella 2 very sweet kids. Then after all this she drives her car down past the guesthouse and stables to the barn and Keith opens the tricky door for her and then offers to carry her suitcase back upto the house. The kids are on a very tight schedule doing something all the time. Before going to bed that first night Maggie prays then goes to check on the kids. First checking on Bella who asleep and then Peter who is not. She offers to pray with him and that becomes their ritual each night. Not long after she gets there Mr and Mrs Ayers go on a cruise they ask Keith to keep an I on Maggie and the kids. So he moves back upto the house tell they get back. Some how during this Maggie finds out Keith is her boss son. The first special thing Keith does for Maggie is to take her shopping with the kids he buys her some clothes. She had only come to work with one lone suitcase after leaving college and her foster mom home. He also covered for her when she and the kids made an awful messy in the kitchen. The first Sunday that she was with the kids and Keith he offered to take her to church. He took her to the same church where his mother memorial service had been after the car accident that had killed her. He saw her love for the Lord and that started turning things around for him. With him being the horse trainer down at the stables. He offered to take her horesback riding with the kids. Bella just loved it so did Peter. That became a ritual to when they could get the chance. The church thing did to. He even took she and the kids two diffrent times to the falls on the ranch. The other help on the ranch all accept Tanner really didn't like Maggie much. During this time also Maggie shared about her parents car accident and about living in foster homes since she was 8. It was hard for Keith to believe but he was falling more in love with her each and every day. Even though he shouldn't because he was engaged to a senators daughter. She was falling for him as well even though he was out of her league. The night before he was suppose to pick up his fiancee Dallas and her folks. He went out with his best friend Greg and got awful drunk. Greg called him a cab instead of delivering him to the guesthouse he was delivered to the main house where he wasn't well received by his dad. Maggie heard the commotion and went down after Keith dad threw him out and helped him down to the guesthouse. Then she called Ike another stablehand to help Keith. The next morning Keith was fairly sobered up to meet Dallas and her folks in the evening they had and engagement party that the kids and Maggie were invited to. Maggie wore the dress Keith had picked out for her. But I should say before all this that after Maggie and the kids had been banished from the house because of one of the Ayers parties was going on. Keith invited Maggie and the kids down to the guesthouse for the night they had a great night. Keith even got to hold Maggie for the first time because she had meltdown well she was there. The kids just loved being with Maggie and their big brother Keith. Maggie was also there another when Keith had a meltdown as well. Now back to the engagement party Keith couldn't keep his eyes off Maggie and the kids. His friend Greg saw this and wanted to be intoduced to her. So he was and he offered to take her to Dallas and Keith party a day or two afer. She went after getting a day off but it really didn't go that well she had to drive Greg home because he was drunk. When she got home she went to check on the kids and she found bruises on Peter so the next day she wanted to go tell Keith at the stables. But Keith was gone with Dallas to look at a house. Things didn't go well with her and Ike and Tanner heard about and offered to take her home. She and Keith took the kids to church one more time when his parents were out before he headed for Dallas graduation their last real time together. He went to Dallas graduation and then she came home with him and then it was just he and Dallas tell the wedding. There was once where Keith and Maggie talked for a bit. But Dallas took most of his time. She was a spoiled brat who just wanted Keith for his money. She wanted to change him as well. During this time also he found out about the car accident that killed his mom and Maggie parents. The wedding day came Maggie knew she needed to get out of there so she left leaving Jamie Tanner grlfriend in charge of the kids. Keith found out and sent Greg after her. Keith didn't go through with the wedding his dad, Dallas and her parents didn't like that. Because of his love for Maggie and his new found faith for the Lord things had changed for him Maggie didn't want anything to do with Keith so she told Greg to keep him away. But Greg finally relented and Keith came a found her after reconciling with his dad. His dad and stepmom even went to church with he and the kids. He told Maggie how much he loved her and how he knew about the accident. She had forgiven them a long time ago. He wanted her to come back to the house with him to have dinner with his parents and Peter and Bella. She said yes it was joyful reunion with the kids. She even got an apology from Mr Ayers. Keith had put the kids to bed she went to check on Peter and pray with him Keith went in as well this had been a ritual when they were together. After they left Peter Keith got down on one knee and propsed to her. They ended up getting married at the falls with Peter, Bella and Keith folks. This ended a great story.

Maggie Montgomery's parents were killed in a car accident when she was eight, sending her into the foster care system. Now in her mid-twenties, she applies for a nanny job with the ultra wealthy Ayers family. It doesn't take her long to fall in love with four-year-old Peter and toddler Isabella, and they with her, though their regimented schedule is rather insane. She assumes Keith, the handsome cowboy who helps with her bag, is a hired hand. They have spent quite a bit of time together with the children before she learns he is Keith Ayers. Keith is a very interesting character. His mother was killed in a car accident when he was 12, seventeen years earlier, and he has never felt close to his father, never being able to meet his expectations. As a young man, he chose a life style that doesn't fit with him now. Keith can be himself with Maggie and the kids, even going to church with them, though he hadn't gone since his mother died. He loves working with his father's horses, though his father wants him to join his business and use his MBA. He's also engaged to Dallas, daughter of a senator, who seems to be more in love with the idea of being Mrs. Keith Ayers with all their money can buy than with Keith. She doesn't even know the real Keith and keeps pressuring him to get some high profile desk job. I felt sorry for him that he continued to be a doormat for other people's expectations and cheered when he finally made some good decisions. Maggie was a great help to him when he started to understand through the pastor's sermons what he was really missing in his life. There is a lot of angst to go through before there can be a happy ending. This is Christian fiction at it's finest. I highly recommend this book.

What a great story, full of bible versus. Keith is to be married to Dallas. Keith meets the nanny, she is a good Christian woman and shows him the way back to God. Choices must be made. Hearts will be broken and forgiveness is a must.

We all have choices in life we must decide the path we will choose. What door will you open? Will you drink and still be thirsty?
