Lebanon: Facts and figures 2015

The ICRC has been present in Lebanon since 1967 and has carried out its humanitarian work through periods of conflict, including 1975-1990 civil war. Currently it is responding to the rapidly growing needs of displaced people fleeing war and violence across the region and the communities hosting them.

In 2015, the ICRC assisted 700,000 people across Lebanon:

Below is an overview of the ICRC's work in Lebanon during 2015.

	309,000 patients received care in ICRC-supported health facilities.
	260,000 people benefited from improved water, electricity and shelter infrastructure.
	7,400 detainees received visits, in 31 places of detention
	413 surgeries were performed on weapon-wounded patients at the ICRC's Weapon Traumatology & Training Centre (WTTC).
	53,200 refugees and Lebanese returnees received cash grants, food or essential items such as hygiene kits, blankets or mattresses.
