Summer Art Trail is a ten-day visual arts festival from Silver Vine Arts, taking over the city of Leicester, from 20 to 29 August.

LCB Depot will host:

The Summer Art Trail launch event with Magic Teapot
Live music, spoken word, pop-up stalls, food & artwork at the festival launch
   Saturday 20 August, 1pm - 9pm, £3

Feelmorelove Boutique drop-in bead & jewellery workshop with Elizabeth Dyer
   Saturday 20 August, 2-4pm, £1 - 5

Summer Art Trail Marketplace and Improvisation Garden

Journeys Festival celebrates and highlights the extraordinary and powerful artwork, music, creativity, culture and experiences that refugee artists bring to the UK - in Leicester 5-28 August, and in Manchester and Portsmouth in October. LCB Depot is pleased to host the 2016 Festival launch event.

Artists awarded LCB Depot prizes in Leicester Museum & Art Gallery's Open 27 exhibition earlier this year now have their work on the walls of our meeting rooms for users to enjoy until Spring 2017. Marcia Blagg's striking abstracts are in our Garden Room; Danquella Slaughter's exquisite ink landscapes are in our Courtyard Room; and Paul Barrand's Dear Old Albion collection (Drive By, pictured right) is in our Old Gallery space.

  • Leicester City Council is to provide a one-off £35k grant to the Leicester Comedy Festival, after its main sponsor Dave TV ended its funding of the event, to ensure that festival organisers LCB-based Big Difference Company can put on the festival in 2017
  • The City Festival 20-29 August celebrates Leicester in the heart of the city. For ten fun–packed days, the city will be buzzing with activity for all the family as streets and venues are filled with entertainment, street arts, sports, culture, music, heritage and more.
