Toronto police will increase patrols over the weekend, with several RIDE programs aimed at catching drunk drivers.

In a statement Thursday, police warned that there will be "numerous" Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) stops conducted across the city during the weekend of the Super Bowl.

"We remind everyone who will be driving to be responsible, plan ahead and make smart choices about your transportation," the statement said.

Officers also encouraged the public to report anyone they believe to be driving under the influence by calling 911.

"The message is clear: Do not drink or use drugs and drive."
