Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day: Fun facts and ideas

In recognition of Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day, celebrated for 15 years on the last Monday of January, we talked to Sealed Air Corp., the company behind the New Jersey invention. You can read our story here.

But there's just so much bubble lore floating around that we had to share more.

Bubble Wrap was invented in Hawthorne, Passaic County in 1957. The material started out as an idea for textured wallpaper and came to be used as a protective element in packaging after getting a big boost from the shipping of IBM's computer equipment.
