SA is generally a religious, conservative country and Christian evangelist Angus Buchan, like many others, is a product of that environment. Nevertheless, while his views are no doubt heartfelt and widely shared, from a constitutional perspective many of them are at odds with our democratic culture and thus are problematic. "I cannot ever agree that homosexuality is right," Buchan said in 2008. "I love them, though, but they need help." He argued that prayer was the answer ("We have prayed for them and God has changed their hearts.") Basically, he believes homosexuality is a sin and prayer can cure it.
