Self-care is a life-long process. We always have to be thinking about how to best take care of ourselves in all ways, from physically to mentally to emotionally. And even though this is definitely something we have to work at (and not something that always comes easy!), sometimes all it takes is 15 minutes to give yourself some essential self care. On her Instagram story, Chloe Grace Moretz dropped some key tips for on-the-go self care. It's something you can do any where and any time, and it takes less time than most workouts.

Chloe posted photos of pages from Living With Joy: Keys to Personal Power and Spiritual Transformation on her Instagram story and recommended everyone try the tips for 15 minutes. She posted shots of the section of the book called "Changing the Negative Into the Positive," which provides advice on how to refocus your thoughts to be a little more joyful. The tips ask you to examine something or someone you are critical of, reflect inwardly on whether you've ever done the same thing you're criticizing someone else for, then summon some loving feelings and try to keep those feelings when you're getting annoyed.

"Everyone should take 15 minutes and try this out today," Chloe advised.

She also posted shots of some daily affirmations, things you can tell yourself each day to be a little more positive. The affirmations include "I release negativity. I have a positive outlook," and "I create a positive, uplifting environment for myself."

Refocusing your mind is a great tool to cope with anxiety or depression, but of course it doesn't always help. If someone is depressed, telling them to just think positively isn't always an option. That's because, according to the National Institute of Mental Health, depression and anxiety are disorders that affect how you feel, think and act. It's not something you can always just think your way out of. Other coping methods for anxiety and depression include therapy, medication, breathing exercises, physical activity and more. But, for some, being positive and being reminded of the good in life is immensely helpful. And, if nothing else, it's a good meditation exercise to calm you and give you a few moments to yourself. Chloe's suggestions are good for anyone, regardless of mental health, as a way to check in with how you're feeling.
