Changing looks

There has been a lot of work going on to prepare for the 2017 live racing season. The look of the interior has a few additions.

These include:

• A section of tables with small televisions. Patrons can select the track they want to monitor.

• Televisions hung from the ceiling down the center of the site. They probably will focus on live racing during the season.

• A stand-up area with space for programs and drinks in front of the window of the poker room.

• Plans are to add self-service terminals at the far end of the room.

Seeing the transformation already gets me wishing to see the greyhounds race around the track again. I might as well start counting the days to the season opener.

Aqueduct: Saturday: Queens County, NYSS division. Sunday: Gravesend, NYSS division.

Fair Grounds: Saturday: Santa Super day, 6 on card.

Gulfstream: Saturday: 5 on card.

Tampa Bay: Saturday: Lightning City.
