This offers a very broad attack surface for malicious internal and external attackers and makes it attractive for them to attack SAP systems and to gain more knowledge on such systems.

But not only can the malicious attacker put company assets as well as system stability and business process availability to a risk, even the well-meaning employee has the capabilities to do so, if he lacks knowledge, the right level of training and competence, or simply does not have the right tools at hand to check and prevent the SAP systems being exposed to unnecessary risks.
