International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is thrilled to share that its Professional Development Team has been honored with two recognitions as part of Chief Learning Officer’s 2021 Learning in Practice Awards. The Firm was named a silver winner in the “Excellence in Content” category for its annual associate Transactions Drafting Skills workshop and a bronze winner in the “Excellence in Blended Learning” category for its Mentoring and Wellness initiatives.
“We are incredibly proud to receive these recognitions,” Hannah Fabrikant, Director of Professional Development at McDermott, said. “It highlights our Professional Development team’s commitment to advancing attorneys through an integrated career progression and professional development system built on competencies, training, and career advising.”
Recognized within the “Excellence in Content” category, McDermott’s annual Transactions Drafting Skills workshop offers hands-on practical training to associates and provides them with an opportunity to obtain real world drafting experience. This in turn enhances their work experience and ultimately better prepares them to service clients. The “Excellence in Blended Learning” recognition highlights McDermott’s redesigned mentorship program, which includes the introduction of Lateral Integration Circles to further promote organic relationships with remote associates and to broaden the mentorship program globally. The Firm’s wellness initiatives, such as meditation classes, educational programming on mental health, and the inaugural “Well-Being in Law Week” were also commended.
Since 2003, the Chief Learning Officer Learning in Practice awards have recognized learning leaders who demonstrate excellence in the design and delivery of employee development programs through a combination of qualities such as leadership, vision, business acumen and strategic alignment.
