As one of the region's largest housing associations, DCH maintains and manages over 23,500 homes, including rent, leasehold and shared ownership. We are now looking for Volunteer Coordinator to join us on a temporary basis for a period of up to 6 months. You will have a vital role to play in helping residents to fulfil their potential and move towards an independent and positive future.
You will have the vision and personal motivation required to develop and promote an effective volunteer and befriending programme. Ideally, you will have experience of organising volunteer placements and supervising volunteers in a similar role, preferably working with volunteers in the areas of mental health, extra care, sheltered or young people supported housing sectors.
A positive attitude, excellent organisation, problem solving and IT skills are all essential, along with excellent communication/interpersonal skills. As this role requires travel across multiple sites within Plymouth, access to a car would be desirable.
Role is based at Plymouth Foyer with attendance at schemes in city centre locations with occasional visits to 18 sheltered schemes across the wider city. Main focus of work Devonport Views and Astor Court extra care schemes, 6 mental health schemes at Mutley and Stonehouse, and the main young people schemes at Foyer and the Hoe.
This is a part time role, working 22.2 hours per week, Tues - Thurs, 7.4 hours per day.
