Classic photographs of David Bowie have sold for more than £10,000 at a Scottish art gallery (Nick Drainey writes).

Original prints of the music star, including the cover for his album Aladdin Sane, went on sale at the gallery over the weekend.

The owner of the Artists Gallery in Aberdeen said it was “a great honour” to host the photographs.

Brian Duffy, who shot the images, worked with Bowie in five sessions over a decade. After the photographer’s death in 2010 his images were placed in the Duffy Archive, which released the original images from these sessions, called The Five Sessions Collection, to the Artists Gallery.

Duffy also worked with Bowie on Ziggy Stardust, The Man Who Fell to Earth, Scary Monsters and The Lodger.
