Chandler police are investigating two bomb threats made at a Chandler middle school on consecutive days.

It was unclear if the two threats are related.

On Monday and Tuesday, Willis Junior High School resumed its regular schedule after police cleared each threat, a Chandler Police Department spokesman said.

What happened Monday

Police responded to the first threat at about 8:30 a.m. Monday. Classes continued after police searched the campus and found no evidence regarding the threat, police said.

School officials put the school on lockdown and notified parents through a messaging system.

Tuesday's threat

Tuesday's threat was resolved before the school day started, so there was no need for a lockdown or an evacuation at the school, near McQueen and Frye roads, said Terry Locke, school district spokesman.

Locke said district officials do not want to speculate about who or what caused the threats.

Though the disruptions have been frustrating, school officials are having classroom discussions with students about the incidents, Locke said.
