Former Alabama WR Chris Black to play at SEC school next season

A former Alabama receiver is headed to another SEC school for his final year of eligibility.

Chris Black confirmed to AL.com he was headed to Missouri after deciding against a senior season at Alabama. Since he graduated, he'll be eligible to play immediately.

Black said he considered Arizona State and Maryland before landing at Missouri.

A former 4-star prospect, Black caught 25 passes for 290 yards in three Alabama seasons. After a promising spring in 2012, Black was injured in preseason practice and was forced to redshirt his first season.

His final season was also cut short by an ankle injury after making two catches for 23 yards.

"He has tried and tried and tried to compete for us all year long," coach Nick Saban said in November. "He hasn't gotten to play a whole lot. Sometimes he felt better than others. But it's just been a nagging, re-occuring thing. We kind of all felt like the best that he could do was to go ahead and get it prepared."
