It’s not always easy being the biggest sibling.

And things are particularly ruff (sorry) for Butterball, the giant puppy who is twice the size of his brothers and sisters.

Butterball is part rottweiler, part border collie.

He is 11 weeks old but already weighs 7kg.

Meanwhile his siblings, Rosebud and Mudbud, are just half that, despite being the same age and breed.

Butterball and the rest of his litter were found abandoned in a field and taken in by Dogs Trust Ballymena in Northern Ireland.

He is the biggest puppy to arrive at the rescue centre since it opened in 1970.

Manager Sarah Park said: ‘We cannot believe the sized of Butterball.

‘He’s a gigantic ball of fluff who is just ginormous compared to his siblings.’

Vet Ariel Brunn added: ‘He’s much taller, longer and fluffier but we believe this is simply down to his genes. He may have inherited more of the Rottie genes from his parents.’

Thankfully his size hasn’t put people off and Butterball has now been adopted.
