Ticket prices to attend Super Bowl 50 are holding at record high levels.

The average price of a ticket to see the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers face off on Feb. 7 in Santa Clara, Calif. is currently $5,217, according to ticket price tracking site SeatGeek.

While this is slightly lower than the $5,335 price fans saw shortly after the Panthers defeated the Arizona Cardinals to set the Super Bowl matchup, it is still well above what tickets went for in the past five years. The average resale price for last year's Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks was $4,271.

For the fans just trying to get into the game, the cheapest tickets available are around $3,500. For those hoping to get the full experience in sit at the 50, it will put them out $10,000.

SeatGeek tells fans to be patient. As the event nears, the price of a ticket will typically fall. But if the last three days are any indication, this year could be the most expensive Super Bowl to date.
