Norbert Michelisz hopes to win despite “unbeatable” Rob Huff

A very good lap was not enough for Norbert Michelisz to take pole position, as Münnich Motorsport’s Rob Huff was even faster than him and took pole position. The Honda driver, who had set the pace in both free practice sessions, believes the Brit is unbeatable in Macau.

“I have to congratulate Rob because I’m not sure it’s possible to beat this man around this track,” admitted the Hungarian. “I was really going for it in Q3 but he did an amazing job. I’m looking forward to the races, especially on Sunday, because I need to make up for 15 points from Thed [Björk].”

Despite the tricky nature of Macau, especially during the races, the Honda driver will not be afraid to try to win as he feels it is worth the risk if he can gain an extra seven points in the title battle.

“The problem is I’m behind in the championship. The difference between first and second is seven points so it really depends what is going to happen after the start. I genuinely believe Rob is faster than me, he will be fast in the races. Even if I have a good start to win here will be a really tough race.”

“To be honest I am always the type to go for it, not really thinking about the championship. 14.5 points is some margin and if I can grab those extra seven points it can be better for me.”
