This good practice example shows how St John Vianney Primary School Childcare has created a powerful, professional hub that places children and their parents at the centre of all it does.
Staff carry out joint observations of children with parents, encouraging parents to continually share their observations from home. This helps the school plan effectively for the next steps in the child’s learning. Staff also give parents lots of ideas and resources to try at home. They teach both children and their parents the art of play, explaining how play underpins all areas of a child’s development including communication, social skills, problem solving and imaginative thinking.
