Bryan Green

Bryan Oliver Green is an independent filmmaker, writer, musician, teaching artist & model. Originally from Washington DC, he attended film school in Philadelphia where he wrote and directed dozens of short films, narratives, documentaries, music videos and promotional videos; including the critically acclaimed experimental short Something In The Way Of Things [In Town] (an adaptation of Amiri Baraka's poetic work), The Philadelphia Bicycle Vignette Story, nominated for Best Narrative in BlackStar 2017 and Recurrence Plot, a short film adaptation of Rasheedah Phillips’ science fiction novel of the same name.  He is currently based in California but still works frequently with the Philadelphia-based afrofuturist collective Black Quantum Futurism, exhibiting work nationally and internationally.

Recurrence Plot: The Family Circle
(USA, 2018, 16 min)
Adapted from a book written by Rasheedah Phillips, Recurrence Plot (And Other Time Travel Tales), this film is the story of a crystal memory-storing bracelet that transports a young mother back to past events in her mother's life.

A Variation on Three Funerals
(USA, 2006, 4 min)

An experimental documentary detailing the funerals of my great aunts & uncle who all passed away within months of each other and were laid to rest in Jenkins, Kentucky.
