Ralph Hauenstein passing: Social media says thanks for 'legendary' life

GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- From his own family to people he helped through his generosity, Ralph Hauenstein is being described as a man of "legendary" status.

Across social media on Sunday, Jan. 10, those who knew of Hauenstein offered their thoughts and condolences on his passing.

He died Sunday at the age of 103.

He was a businessman, philanthropist and, perhaps most importantly, played a "decisive" role in helping the Allies win World War II.
