Subway Soup Social at the Rink of Dreams in Ottawa #WarmUpWithSUBWAY

Traveling to Ottawa to attend the Subway Soup Social at the Rink of Dreams was an experience our family will always remember.

Subway Soup Social

Last Fall I had the opportunity to visit the Country Apple Orchard with Subway® Canada, so I knew this event in Ottawa would be one my whole family would enjoy. Ottawa is a beautiful city with so many things to do, places to see and experiences to be had.

The Rink of Dreams is about 12,500 square feet – one of the largest outdoor rinks in Ottawa. It really was the perfect place for a Soup Social. I mean, what could be better than getting families and friends together to enjoy some delicious Subway soup on a winters day in Ottawa?

Subway had a heated tent set up by the Rink of Dreams where families could come in to warm up, play some board games and enjoy a bowl of soup. I was excited to try the new French Onion Soup – which sadly is only available for a limited time – so try it while you can. Subway is proud to offer a variety of soup options, which are free from artificial colours and flavours. The soup was absolutely delicious, just look at all that oozy-gooey cheese!

I couldn’t help but smile seeing so many families enjoying a fun winter day. The rink was full of people enjoying the above normal temperatures for a January afternoon. My girls quickly made new friends and skated hand-in-hand around the rink more times that I could count. My husband had fun speed skating behind the kids and swooping them up into a titanic like pose and as he put them back down they would be already be begging for him to catch them again.

The echoes of laughter filled the air and continued into the heated tent where the smell of warm soups drew people in. Children giggled as they played classic board games such as snakes and ladders, guess who, connect four and many others. The humming of conversations would occasionally be broken up by  a child’s shout of victory from winning a game.

While everyone was enjoying the Soup Social, Subway had a film team there to capture it all. My family had a lot of fun with the whole team, I can’t wait to see the videos and share them with you all. In the meantime, here is a short little recap I put together while I was at the event.
