Does Jennifer Garner Spend $5,000 a Month on Botox?

In the last year, Jennifer Garner has found herself the subject of numerous tabloid speculations following her split from husband, Ben Affleck. Along with the swirling rumors about their relationship, new stories have started to emerge about Garner herself. According to an unnamed source, Jennifer Garner spends in excess of $5,000 a month on Botox treatments. While the rumors about the state of Garner and Affleck’s relationship may be hard to corroborate, this Botox rumor can be examined based on logic and photographic evidence.

How Much Botox Will $5,000 Buy You?

Far and away, Botox injection is the most popular cosmetic treatment in the United States and around the world. American doctors alone administered nearly 7 million Botox injections in 2014. In recent years, Botox has become a common way for men and women to fight against the signs of aging, as Botox can eliminate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, make skin look plumper and fuller and it gives users a more youthful appearance in general. Given these benefits, it’s no surprise that Botox has become commonplace in Hollywood, a town where appearance is everything.

But is $5,000 a reasonable amount to spend on Botox in a month? In short, probably not. On average, a Botox treatment costs between $500 and $800, and while that’s certainly not cheap, Garner would have to be getting a lot of areas treated in order to hit the $5,000 threshold. Additionally, when you consider that the effects from a single injection can last several months, it seems less likely that Garner is going all-out every single month on Botox treatments.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

In addition to the numbers not lining up, recent photographs of Jennifer Garner don’t back up the story either. Over the last decade and a half, since Garner first rose to prominence on Alias, her appearance hasn’t changed significantly. Since she has had three kids in that time and is now north of 40 years old, this lack of change is indicative that she may have had some work done, or, at the very least, that she has very good genes. But by the same token, Garner’s appearance hasn’t changed enough to suggest that she is undergoing massive amounts of cosmetic enhancement either, even of the noninvasive variety such as Botox.

Like most rumors, ultimately there may be no way to dispel the stories about Jennifer Garner and her Botox habit. But when you look at the situation reasonably, and factor in that a close friend vehemently denied these rumors, you start to see that Garner spending $5,000 a month on Botox is highly unlikely.
