Illinois State Police telecommunications specialists retire

PECATONICA — Telecommunications specialists Gail Johnson of Pecatonica and Cynthia Akins of Rockford retired from Illinois State Police District 16 on Dec. 31.

Johnson and Akins were honored by family and past and present co-workers. Johnson began her career with the ISP in 1979, and Akins served since 1995. Both women spent their entire tours with District 16, earning various commendations.
