The Mexican baseball team is going to need some help from the Toronto Blue Jays to qualify for the World Baseball Classic.

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports the Mexican Federation of Baseball will seek the Blue Jays' permission to release pitchers Marco Estrada, Roberto Osuna and Aaron Sanchez for February's World Baseball Classic qualifying round.

Mexico will participate in a double-elimination qualifying round for the 2017 tournament to be held in Mexicali, Mexico in March. The Czech Republic, Germany and Nicaragua are the other three teams in Mexico's pool.

The winners of each pool of four will gain passage to the 16-team tournament to be held in March of 2017. Canada and the United States are among the 12 nations that have already qualified.

While Osuna is born and raised in Mexico, Estrada and Sanchez could also play for the United States. Estrada was born in Mexico, but grew up in the US and Sanchez is American-born and raised and only qualifies for the Mexican team through parental ties.

Mexico has qualified for the three previous tournaments in 2006, 2009 and 2013.
