AN amateur angler fished out a flesh-eating piranha from a lake in Doncaster.
Stunned Davey White, 37, spotted the sharp-toothed predator in the water while on a walk.
Another visitor also scooped one out at the same spot hours later.
Both were dead — but the number of ducks and fish there is said to have dipped recently.
Locals fear more piranhas are breeding, possibly after some were dumped as unwanted pets.
Davey said: “I saw the razor-sharp teeth and knew it had to be a piranha.
“You have to hope they can’t survive in our waters.”
Mum Toni Hooper, 32, lifted out the second at Martinwells Lake.
She said: “Kids paddle there and teenagers swim. Some of us noticed there aren’t as many ducks.”
Piranhas, native to the Amazon, are up to 14in long.
Attacks on humans usually result in nips to feet or hands but people have been killed by shoals.
