Women's Basketball Reaches No. 10 In WBCA Top 25 Poll

LILBURN, Ga. – The Winona State women's basketball team has entered the top 10 in the USA Today Sports Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll for the first time, earning a No. 10 ranking in the latest poll released Tuesday.

The Warriors are off to an 8-0 start this year, most recently earning an 83-58 win at Upper Iowa Saturday in the NSIC opener.

WSU is the only NSIC squad in the nation's top 25, with Wayne State dropping out of this week's rankings and are now receiving votes along with Sioux Falls, WSU's opponent on Saturday.

The Warriors have been climbing in the national rankings since debuting at No. 16 in the preseason poll, the program's first-ever appearance in the top 25. WSU jumped to No. 11 last week before rising to the No. 10 spot this week.

Winona State hosts a pair of NSIC matchups this weekend, taking on Southwest Minnesota State on Friday before welcoming USF on Saturday in McCown Gym.
