DENVER — A Denver Fire Department shift commander responding to a fire was injured in a crash when another car struck his vehicle.
The shift commander’s SUV had its lights and sirens running when it was struck on Thursday night, causing it to roll over, according to CBS Denver. The commander became trapped and had to be freed from the wreckage, but “luckily suffered minor injuries,” fire officials said.
The department posted photos of the wreckage on Twitter and urged motorists to "#YieldtoEmergencyVehicles.”
