Ingredients

  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced longways
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 pound ground beef or ribeye, thinly sliced
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 medium flour tortillas, cut in half
  • 4 slices provolone cheese, cut in half or quarters
  • flour slurry: 1/4 cup
  • cheese whiz, for topping
  • hot sauce, for dipping

Steps

  1. In a large heavy-bottomed saucepan, preheat frying oil to 360 degrees.
  2. In a medium skillet over medium heat, sauté onions and peppers until soft and tender, about 5 to 8 minutes.
