Americans are increasingly skeptical of Muslims. But most Americans don’t talk to Muslims.

We originally posted this in November, but we've updated it in light of Newt Gingrich's comments Thursday in the hours after the attack in Nice, France, that "we should frankly test every person here who is of a Muslim background, and if they believe in Sharia, they should be deported." 

Americans are more skeptical than ever of how Islam squares with their values and way of life — and yet very few Americans actually seem to interact with Muslims at all.
