It only takes just one bite to transport me back to my childhood. The minty, chocolatey crunch of peppermint bark reminds me of brisk winter days filled with packages of candy canes my mom and I never quite knew what to do with. The only logical choice was to crush them on top of warm, melted chocolate.

I don’t always have the time to make it anymore, especially not enough to give heaps away to friends and family. Which is why as soon as I saw it on Williams Sonoma’s website, I knew I had to share. The brand’s peppermint bark is finally back in three different varieties, and I’m adding them all straight to my cart.

Williams Sonoma’s bark is a layered confection riddled with flavor. At the base is a custom blend of Guittard milk chocolate, one of my absolute favorite chocolate brands of all time. The chocolate is high quality, rich with cocoa flavor, and has the perfect mouth feel. And on top, a blanket of creamy white chocolate is studded all over with crunchy and cooling candy cane pieces. To give it an extra hint of mint, peppermint oil is even blended within the layers of chocolate.

It comes in a bright red metal tin that’s reminiscent of my childhood as well. After all, only the finest of homemade cookies and sweet treats would go into my family’s holiday tins, and this bark is certainly worthy of a spot.

I’d say it couldn’t get any better, but the brand also released a salted version, with flaky chunks of sea salt all along the top as well as a full dark chocolate version, which means I now have three tins I need to pick up.
