The Pacific island countries (PICs) attribute great importance to the outcome of the Paris Climate Conference (COP21), as climate change threatens their very existence. Ahead of COP21, the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) adopted a common declaration on climate change, constituting a compromise between small Pacific island countries on one side and Australia and New Zealand on the other.
