Why Race Matters
Initially, I wanted to title this, “If You Think You Don’t See Colour, You’re Either a Liar or Ignorant.” But that was just really long and, perhaps, unnecessarily offensive. So I shortened it: “Why Race Matters.”
Well, why does it?
Some brilliant person somewhere is reading this and saying, “There is only one race: the human race!” You, my friend, would be right.
And that is precisely why race matters.

Humanity is the only race there is. We have Darwin and his Theory of Evolution to thank for the false ideology of multiple races. It is evolution that has been the foundation for a host of evils against humanity.
Evolution fueled slavery. If it is true that we are all descended from monkeys and not made in the image of God, then those who were able to evolve the most would, truthfully, be the most superior race. Thus, being able to, in their mind, justify the inhumane treatment of the lesser superior races including many brown people: Africans, Indians (South Asian); Native Americans throughout North, Central, and South America; the indigenous peoples of the Caribbean and Pacific Islands; the indigenous people of Australia and New Zealand; even the Asians.
Those who were more religious in their acceptance of this Theory took the Bible out of context in order for it to support their theories. Slavery was man’s idea; never God’s. When the Israelites enslaved the Canaanite tribes, it was because they failed to execute them as they were instructed. When they enslaved their own people, they were condemned by the prophets on behalf of God. Every time the people of Israel were enslaved or taken captive, God executed judgment against their captors. And in case there was any doubt, the New Testament declares:
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)
...There is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. (Colossians 3:11)
There you have it.
Evolution helped to fuel colonialism. Not the buying and selling of land, but the taking of land because “savages” and “barbarians” occupied it. I guess many of these people forgot what it was like to be conquered themselves.
Evolution fueled Manifest Destiny. Even some men of cloth believed that God wiped out these “savages” with disease and gave them leave to kill them off to make way for His white, “Christian” children.
Evolution fueled Jim Crow laws and all other forms of institutionalized racism. I might not be able to enslave you formally and legally anymore, but I can still beat you as low as possible. The white man, woman, and child should always have the right of way in life and let one brown, red, or yellow man, woman, or child get in their way and all hell will be raised.
Evolution fueled the willful ignorance of the Tulsa, Oklahoma government and society as white Tulsans took planes once used to fight real enemies in The Great War (WWI) to attack their black neighbors in Greenwood (North) Tulsa-based on the false accusation of a black boy raping a white girl. It was the worst race riot in American history, yet is not taught in any textbooks, not even in Tulsa. And this same evolution and racism fueled the eradication of the First People in Oklahoma. Once they’d finished with the red people, they focused on eradicating and setting back the black. North Tulsa STILL hasn’t fully recovered from this tragedy.
Evolution fueled eugenics. In North Carolina where I currently live, there were still black people being sterilized up until 1978. Only in the past few years have they officially addressed the atrocity and started discussing reparations.
Evolution fuels abortion. Margaret Sanger, a firm believer in eugenics didn’t think those she deemed “human weeds” deserved to live, much less reproduce, thus abortion was created. And while women of all ethnicities have access to abortion, the legalized crime has always targeted women of colour, the disenfranchised, and the disabled. You don’t find Planned Parenthood clinics in middle-class to wealthy (white) neighborhoods, only in heavily minority, poorer neighborhoods. Just like the pushing of drugs and alcohol, abortion is pushed as well. They present it as a Trojan horse: a blessing that enables us to escape certain circumstances (circumstances we ourselves CHOSE directly or indirectly to create), but the price is our seed. Black America has aborted (murdered) over half of its would-be population. Sanger may have been the Odysseus (intellect) behind this scheme, but the role of Sinon (the spokesperson for the Horse) was played by black ministers. Yes, blood is on our hands. Too bad we didn’t follow the example of the Hebrew midwives and refuse Pharaoh his inhumane sacrifice (Exodus 1:15-21).

Evolution fueled Hitler’s reign of terror in World War II. Everyone who didn’t match up to his ideal of the perfect Aryan (wanna-be Nephilim, Norse godlike) appearance, had to go. Jews, Gypsies, Communists, Blacks, homosexuals, the disabled, the elderly, those who sympathized with the aforementioned...you name them, they had to go. And many, many maniacal medial experiments were conducted on the Jews, blacks, etc. without anesthesia--even on children--for the sake of eugenics. (This happened during slavery as well.) Many forced abortions and sterilizations took place. This is now so commonly known that modern movies and shows are even starting to use it as a basis for why certain people became villains such as in the X-Men: First Class and ABC’s Forever.
Evolution is the fuel behind a host of modern evils. And because we choose to not address this, it continues.
At the end of the day, if we can mentally remove the humanity of a person from the equation, then we no longer have to treat them like a person.
This same theory is what fuels modern evils such as abortion, euthanasia, China’s dying rooms, and more.
Ethnicity DOES Matter
Many white people who are trying to be kind and say the right thing will tell you: “I don’t see race!” or “I don’t see skin colour.”
That’s a lie.
Unless you’re Stevie Wonder, you can see it. And even if you are Stevie, you can hear it, sense it. It’s always there. It never goes away. Even if someone tries to hide it.
To say a person doesn’t see “race” or skin colour is a well-intentioned lie and a huge part of the problem.
You’re not prejudiced or racist. Great! That’s the first step in the right direction.
But to say you don’t see something that is plainly before your eyes is an ignorant lie that keeps us all from moving forward. It is a toddler who prefers being carried and crawling instead of tackling the difficulty of learning to walk and carrying themself and one day, carrying others. It helps no one. Only refuses to address our modern racial issues with a smile on one’s face. And likely, even with a Bible in hand.
You’re supposed to see ethnicity. You’re supposed to look at the beauty of another ethnic group and see how God CHOSE to make them for His pleasure. Not to be subservient to or less than another, not to be be treated as “exotic” because it doesn’t line up with our forced socially acceptable standard of being, not to be treated as a novelty item that we touch, test drive (y’all know what I mean!), and treat as a novelty. Just as white Americans may treat an Indian, African, Islander, Latino, or Asian as exotic, remember, you are just as “exotic” if you go to one of their nations. Remember, when the Celts were still dark complected and black haired as the modern-day occupants of Turkey (for they derived from the same Anatolian Peninsula), they along with their Barbary neighbors thought your white skin was “exotic” and made you more desirable as a (sex) slave to their chieftains.
Pale, white skin is beautiful.
Dark, black skin is beautiful.
Olive skin, which belongs to many of us of various (mixed) descents, is beautiful.
Red and yellow skin is beautiful.
ALL skin is beautiful.
Your skin is not the result of a happenstance of evolution. That kind of evolution never ever existed to begin with. It’s a doctrine of devils used to separate the masses and divide the Body of Christ. Your skin is the result of a lesser form of evolution, better known as adaptation. Yet this evolution does not change one species into another. A monkey cannot become a human being. A dinosaur or reptile cannot become a bird. There is absolutely no viable scientific proof for that kind of evolution at all. Yet it does cause a species to adapt better their environment.
One Blood, One Family
And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings… (Acts 17:26)
As Scripture states, we are all from ONE blood, not many. Adam and Eve, born in the cradle of humanity were BLACK. And while science has never proved Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, it has proved that from blacks, every ethnicity that walks the face of the earth can be made, but not the other way around. Very likely, based on the rough location Adam and Eve were from, we can safely presume they were olive-complected, like me, or like an Ethiopian or Egyptian. At lightest, they’d look like a modern Middle-Easterner. At darkest, they’d look like a North African. From this blood, every human being that lived before the Flood was descended.

Cain’s descendants were not cursed with black skin. That is a lie and has no foundation whatsoever in Scripture. In fact, whatever the mark on Cain was, there is no indication that it was even passed on to his descendants. This is a lie passed on by the theologically confused and illiterate as well as those belonging to blatant cults such as Mormonism.
And the Lord said to him, “Therefore, whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.” And the Lord set a mark on Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him. Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son—Enoch. (Genesis 4:15-17)
Neither was Ham cursed with black skin. But I will address this a little later.
And for all you Nation of Islam (NOI) believers, white men are not the devil. They are not the result of a (false) god’s half-baked experiment where they were taken too soon from whatever cosmic oven or toaster they were conceived in. Our black skin does not make us gods, it simply makes us black. Your white skin does not make you a devil, it simply makes you white.

And again, NOI and Mormon believers, no result of supposed devilment or evil-doing in the premortal world makes any of us better or worse. Humans weren’t even involved in the premortal battle! We weren’t created yet! What we do on earth makes us wicked or godly. All have the chance God has given them for salvation and goodness. Nothing else. colour does not affect our chances.
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse… (Romans 1:20)
Far too often, biblical illiteracy and flat out unbelief in the Word of God has been the bane of cultural unity throughout the ages. But back to Adam and Eve…
All of the people living at the time of the Flood were descended from the “first couple.” When the population was all but wiped out, Noah and his wife, and their three sons and daughters-in-law lived on carrying that same Adamic blood, passing it on to all of us who have lived and breathed since that day.
So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive. (Genesis 7:23)
Then God spoke to Noah, saying, “Go out of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you: birds and cattle and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, so that they may abound on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him. (Genesis 8:15-18)
While the Bible does not go into great detail on this subject, between it and Josephus, we know how the original divisions of ethnicities and cultures came about. At the Tower of Babel, our language was confused (divided) and like stuck with like, creating the first level of separation: linguistic isolation.
Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” (Genesis 11:1-4)
Most of these newly formed people groups travelled to various places to resettle which then introduced geographic isolation to the already linguistically separated peoples.
But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth. (Genesis 11:5-9)
After this they were dispersed abroad, on account of their languages, and went out by colonies everywhere; and each colony took possession of the land which they light upon, and unto which God led them; so that the whole continent was filed with them, both the inland and maritime countries. There were some who passed over sea in ships, and inhabited the islands: and some of those nations do still retain the denominations which were given them by their first founders; but some have lost them also; and some have only admitted certain changes in them, that they might be the more intelligible to the inhabitants; and they were the Greeks who became the authors of such mutations; for when, in after ages, they grew potent, they claimed to themselves the glory of antiquity,--giving names to the nations that sounded well (in Greek) that they might be better understood among themselves; and setting agreeable forms of government over them, as if they were a people derived from themselves. (Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, Book I, Chapter V, Section 1)
Now they were the grand-children of Noah, in honour of whom names were imposed on the nations by those that first seized upon them. Japthet, the son of Noah, had seven sons: they inhabited so, that, beginning at the mountains Taurus and Amanus, they proceeded along Asia, as far as the river Tanais, and along Europe to Cadiz; and settling themselves on the lands which they light upon, which none had inhabited before, they called the nations by their own names; for Gomer founded those whom the Greeks now call Galatians, [Galls,] but were then called Gomerites. Magog founded those that from him were named Magogite, but who are by the Greeks called Scythians. Now as to Javan and Madai, the sons of Japhet; from Madai came the Madeans, who are called Medes by the Greeks; but from Javan, Ionia and all the Grecians are derived. Thobel founded the Thobelites, who are now called Iberes; and the Mosocheni were founded Mosoch; now they are Cappadocians. There is also a mark of their ancient denomination still to be shewn; for there is even now among them a city called Mazaca, which may inform those that are able to understand, that so was the entire nation once called. Thiras also called those whom he ruled over, Thrasians; but the Greeks changed the name to Thracians. And so many were the countries that had the children of Japhet for their inhabitants. (Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, Book I, Chapter VI, Section I)
Then there was another level of geographic isolation added to the equation, this time, involuntary. Pangea, the supercontinent of which the current seven continents once composed, was broken up or “divided” thus, practically, permanently separating many of the tribes for several ages.
To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided... (Genesis 10:25, I Chronicles 1:19)
So we have one linguistic isolation and two official geographic isolations. Now, the people groups begin to adapt and adjust to their environments. Those in the hotter climates such a the Middle-East, Africa, and Southern continents/lands (Australia, New Zealand) began to collectively develop darker skin and “kinkier” hair, hair that doesn’t need to be washed as much and thus, conserves water in the dry climates. Those in the colder climates such as Northern Europe and Scandinavia began to collectively develop paler skin because the sun was not so harsh there. Everyone began to adapt for the sake of survival, not because one skin colour or hair texture was prettier or better than another. Not because one people was more barbaric than another. Not because one people was smarter or stupider than another.
Further linguistic differences began to form furthered by more geographic isolations (i.e. rivers and bodies of water, mountains, forests, etc.). The language tree traces these “branches” fairly well. Many languages, many ethnicities, many cultures, many religions, yet still, one blood, and one race.

Noah’s Family, Our World
Noah and his wife had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. They, in turn, had many sons of their own who became many peoples.
Noah and his wife, like Adam and Eve, were more than likely olive-coloured. Certainly NOT the Scottish adaptation you see in The Bible Series. In fact, Japheth was likely white as he fathered the Asian and Caucasian peoples, including the Celts and the Germanics. Ham fathered the Africans and all those descended from Canaan including the Phoenicians. And the eldest, Shem fathered the Jews and other Semites, as well as many other Middle-Eastern and Asian groups.
Also, as aforementioned, black skin was not a curse on Ham. Ham did indeed behave indecently toward his father. Some theologians would even go so far as to say he either had a homosexual desire toward his drunk, naked father or, perhaps, even performed a homosexual act on him while Noah was passed out drunk. But whatever the sin, no matter how small or great, Ham himself was never cursed.
And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard. Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness. So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him. Then he said: “Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants He shall be to his brethren.” (Genesis 9:18-25)
There you have it. Canaan was cursed. But even so, he was cursed to be the servant of his brethren; NOT with darker pigmentation. In fact, Canaan was the only son of Ham that wasn’t (entirely) black!
The sons of Ham (Egypt) were Cush (Ethiopia), Mizraim (Egypt), Put (Libya), and Canaan (Canaan). (Genesis 10:6 emphasis mine)
Egypt was known as the “land of Ham” (Psalm 105:23, 105:27, 106:22). Yet it was Mizraim specifically who became the father of Egypt. Egyptians are black. The Cushites were later known as Ethiopians who are also black. Put or Phut became Lybia which denotes Africans. Canaan is the only brother who was not black and did not begat blacks. Tyrians, Sidonians, and the inhabitants of Canaan were not and are not black. They’re Middle-Eastern. Thus any false doctrines teaching the curse on Ham of black skin is wrong at every turn. It’s just a way for racists to try and canonize their racist sentiments and have God’s stamp of approval on it.

But the point is, no matter how differently coloured Noah’s sons were, they were all, equally Noah’s sons. There’s a theory (from Perry Stone) that perhaps, they were even triplets. Of course, we can’t confirm that, but we can confirm that they have the same blood. Same daddy, same mother, same family. One blood (again), one family, that populated the world. And no matter how the family groups diversified, no matter where they emigrated, no matter what physical adaptations in appearance were revealed, they were and are still one blood, one family.

At Our Core, We All Know the Truth
You know, there’s one very clear way to show that many people--like slave owners and even many Nazis--knew that people of different ethnicities truly were human, even if they didn’t dare admit it aloud.
Sex.
That’s right, I went there.
Many slave owners and Nazis claimed to be good, Bible-believing Christians. They took the Word of God out of context and twisted it to their benefit, but one thing I’m sure most of them would have agreed on is that bestiality is a most heinous, foul sin. Thus, it follows that if black people were truly just sophisticated beasts of burden and weren’t actually human, yet only “somewhat” resembled humans, then they would not have made it their business to rape our women day in and day out and keep them as second class mistresses. Their white wives would not have looked the other way while their husbands slipped out of bed to find the Sally Hemmings, Kizzys, Easters, Queens, and Patseys of their liking. And some Nazis would not have raped Jewish women (even if it was against the law) had they truly believed them to be vermin and not human. Even at their vilest, this most basic human desire was fulfilled in one of the most ghastly ways possible, yet a way that still recognized a human being as a human being.
If these fiends persistently denied that their rape victims were truly human, then they, would logically be labelling themselves as zoophiles and those who willfully engage in bestiality. I doubt many of them would openly or secretly even admit that claim.
Obviously, as we’ve illustrated, people are people and not beasts regardless of their colour, ethnicity, or language so I’m not siding with the racists here. I’m just pointing out the absolute lack of logic in their beliefs and how their own actions often disagree with their words. Why would a “Christian” human being have sex with an “animal?” Why would a thinking human being let an “animal” breastfeed and raise their child? The answer is, of course, they wouldn’t.
In short, bringing the issue of sex into matters of racism illustrates truly that racism is indeed an illusion: it’s used when it’s convenient and often discarded when it's not.
Race matters.
When we lie and divide
When we remove race from another human being, we turn ourselves into monsters (in actuality)--little gods (in our lying minds)--and remove the humanity from a person, thus, creating a previously non-existing logic that aids us in treating someone different from us however we like.
The human race is beautiful as is. And while we are foolish to pretend there is more than one. It is also equally foolish to say that we do not see
God does respect culture. And unity doesn’t necessitate the disregarding of culture. God is pro-culture. He chose a specific culture, a specific people, namely the Jewish people, to be His chosen people who would manifest the Scriptures of the Messiah. So God is not against that, He is for culture. And I believe that there is something in each culture that needs to be redeemed. There are certain things that seem to be gifts that various cultures have whether some cultures may be good in math or science and others may be good in just various things that you could see that other cultures are typically good at. I think Kenyans have been winning the marathons for I don’t know how many different years. So there’s obviously something in Kenya where folks can run. Anyway, the concept of God speaking to certain things within the culture or the DNA or the destiny of a certain group of people is not something that should cause offense or any kind of discomfort in the Body of Christ.
So as you can see, different doesn’t mean bad. It doesn’t mean less than or better than. It doesn’t mean “more equal” than someone else. We are different, yet equal. And that, my friends, is why race matters.
