#Holidaysweat Fitness Fun!

This week we're talking about keeping fitness FUN with Sweat PinkRun to the Finish, and The Me-Mover!

Sometimes, yeah, I'm pressed for time and have to squeeze in a fast-and-furious workout at the gym. But most of the time I actually want to go run, hike, ski, spin... I used to be a creature of habit at the gym, and looking back on those days makes me shudder out of boredom. How the hell did I go to the gym for an hour to do 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of the same weight-lifting routine and then leave?! How did I do this every day?!

I DO love my gym workouts, I promise!
Amidst these boring gym workouts in high school and college, I did have field hockey practices, which were totally fun! I also found yoga in college, so add that awesomeness to the mix! But it was really moving to Colorado and my introduction to a daily outdoor activity that made exercising totally fun! Skinning up a mountain, hiking to alpine lakes, and trail running amidst the aspens made me anticipate my daily workouts! Don't get me wrong, I did and still do add gym workouts to the mix. But it's not an every-day-do-the-same-thing routine.

Sometimes I love going out by myself. It's nice to have the peace and quiet of the outdoors around me, or my own music playing in my ears as I do my own circuit training at the gym.

Sometimes it's a great way to get a hangout session in with a friend! Having a yoga/spin/hike/ski followed by coffee/wine/happy hour date with friends is the best way to spend time together. Plus, talking while hiking a steep hill will definitely add challenge to the cardio aspect.

My 3 tips to amp up the fun? Try something new, mix up your routine, and get a friend to join in! If you're doing at least one of these on a regular basis, you'll be having fun with your workouts in no time!
