Saturday 22 July 2017, 1:00 pm11:00 pm

Now I Find Poetry in my Favourite Place patch

Now I Find Poetry in my Favourite Place patch

61 poets in an all-day non-stop poetry reading to raise funds for the Poetry Café. Each poet will read for eight minutes, entry is by donation, and you can come and go as you please.

There’ll also be a tombola – your chance to win a fabulous prize!

Sponsor a Poet

Our poets are donating their time and talents to read on the day. Please sponsor a poet of your choice at www.justgiving.com/teams/PoetryCafe. It doesn’t really matter which poet you choose as all money raised goes to directly to the Poetry Café fund. EVERY LITTLE HELPS.

What are we raising funds for?
Every aspect of the Poetry Café visitor experience will be improved, providing a home for poetry for years to come: improved access, increased capacity, new heating and ventilation, and sound-proofing. We are now so close to reaching our fundraising target for completing our renovations – but we need your help to reach the final 10% of our target. Any help you can give will be very gratefully received.

Not only will you be supporting the physical transformation of the Poetry Café and buildings, but you will be directly supporting us in our mission to create a central position for poets and poetry across the UK and beyond; our rejuvenated Poetry Society spaces will be invaluable in helping us carry out our work. From this building, we place poets in schools across the country, run vital talent development programmes, and publish the UK’s leading poetry magazine, The Poetry Review.
