In 1972, Leonard Cohen was at the height of his powers. On an epic European tour, he invited legendary music documentarian Tony Palmer—who has worked with the Beatles, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa and more—to join him with exclusive and incredible access. With achingly beautiful footage, glorious and banal glimpses of life on the road and heart-rending concert footage, this is a world-class tour doc. It was thought that the original film had been lost until more than 290 rolls of film in rusted cans were discovered in late 2009. The following year, Palmer has lovingly restored the film to much of its original glory, which can be seen here.
