From the Army Quartermaster's Book of Uniforms for WACs, and Nurses. This page describes the different caps that nurses wore. Bottom left is the brown and white seersucker cap which was worn with the matching uniform. It laced in the back to hold shape, and unlaced to become flat, easy to launder and pack, no ironing required. The center bottom cap is the traditional white nurse's cap which had a gather at the back neckline to adjust the size and fit.
