Sometimes the WooCommerce pricing options available by default are simply not dynamic enough to suit your needs. WooCommerce Price Per Word aims to solve this problem for sellers that need variable pricing based on the word count or character count of an uploaded document.
When a buyer is ready to make a purchase they will upload a document directly to your product page. The word / character count (depending on how you have your settings configured) will be calculated and the price will be set based on your price per word or character set for that product.
The price will update instantly for the buyer to see on screen, and they can continue with their purchase.

This purchase is for a single site license that gives you access to updates and support for one year. After that, the plugin will continue to function as-is, but you will not be able to get updates or support until you renew the license.
WooCommerce Price Per Word Features
Price Per Word Settings
At the product level you will find options to configure the product pricing based on word or character count.
Price Per Word Calculated
Your buyer will upload their document. The word / character count will be used to calculate the price based on your pricing settings.
Optional Price Breaks
You can add price break discounts based on the word or character count. Offer a lower price per word for documents with high word counts.
Price Per Word Shopping Cart
The WooCommerce shopping cart will display the file name, word count, and pricing details for the document that was uploaded.
Price Per Word Order Details
The WooCommerce order details screen will include the break down of the pricing based on the word or character count. It will also include a copy of the document for your reference.

Easy to install also for a non-professional webdesigner, working fine, support ready to help. The only thing I miss is the fact that the wordcount is not counting exactly (5% discrepancy), there would be potential for improvement.

Technically this plugin works fine. But we came across the same issue as Nany had. The wordcount works not correctly. When a document has a wordcount of 4635, the plugin counts for the same document 4824 and the pdf version of it it counts 4683 (which meets at least “nearly” the original wordcount. What do you suggest to solve this issue?

It meant quite a bit of work and needed some perseverence but in the end this plugin works fine. Also the support team was helpful to give support.

The idea of this plugin is awesome, especially for taking translation orders. However, the word count calculation on the uploaded file is just not accurate at all! What I mean is it can’t function well. Have you ever thought of letting the buyers to paste the words in text field and the plugin can detect the word count automatically just like MS Words? This will be more accurate than uploading a file.

Please submit a ticket here and provide a copy of the file you are working with so we can look at why it’s not getting counted properly. The classes that we’re using to count would be the same as if you pasted, so we just need to review the file and see what’s going on.
