Anxiety

Hypnotherapy for anxiety in Bristol

At some point, we've all encountered moments of anxiety. Whether it's the jitters before a presentation or the nerves leading up to a driving test, these feelings are part of the human experience. Perhaps you're anticipating your wedding day or starting a new job, which can bring excitement and apprehension. Worries about relationships or finances can also stir up this uneasy feeling. It's natural to feel anxious occasionally, but when it begins to dominate our daily lives, it's time to address it. Anxiety can manifest in various forms, from panic disorder and phobias to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder, and generalised anxiety disorder (GAD).

Some individuals struggle with managing their worries and anxieties. Hypnotherapy can aid in breaking this cycle by allowing you to distance yourself from negative thoughts, anxious feelings, and physical sensations. This will enable you to handle any situation that comes your way with ease.

How do we approach anxiety with hypnotherapy?

So, you've decided that you want to use hypnotherapy to help you reduce anxiety. Let's talk about how we go about doing that. Notice that I said "we"! That's because hypnotherapy is a collaborative process, and I will be teaching you a variety of techniques so that you can help yourself. We will use relaxation and breathing techniques in conjunction with hypnosis to give you control over the anxiety and learn positive coping strategies, helping to reduce the physical symptoms of anxiety. It will also help you focus on your life's positive aspects and untangle from those thoughts that can perpetuate anxiety.

Anxiety can vary in severity, with some experiencing mild symptoms while others have more severe cases. Not everyone with anxiety will have panic attacks. During the initial consultation, we will discuss the number of sessions required: temporary anxiety, like exam or wedding nerves, can be treated quickly with hypnotherapy, whereas persistent anxiety may require more sessions.
