Police investigate vehicle shooting on Front Street

FREMONT - Fremont Police are investigating a shooting reported Saturday in which a vehicle was struck with at least one round.

Fremont Police Chief Dean Bliss said the vehicle that was struck was towed by police for investigative purposes.

"We are not sure if anyone was in the vehicle, but there were no injuries reported," Bliss said.

Police were called at 8:51 p.m. Saturday to the 600 block of South Front Street for the report of gunshots, and began an investigation, preserving the scene, Bliss said.

"The investigators are trying to put it all back together and we hope to get it resolved soon," Bliss said. "We are following up on all the information we have."

In a separate incident, a woman reporting hearing two gunshots around 10:38 p.m. Sunday in the area of White Avenue.

Fremont Police Officer Jared Cashen investigated the claim, but was not able to find evidence of a shooting, and closed the investigation.
