Hacks/Hackers announces new ‘Connect’ events in San Francisco, London, and New York

November 19, 2015 -- Hacks/Hackers, the grassroots global network bringing together news journalists and technologists, announces three new dates for Connect: its series of unique media entrepreneurship events.

In partnership with the Google News Lab, which empowers innovation at the intersection of technology and media Connect enables local Hacks/Hackers chapters to tailor events to support innovation within their communities. This includes partnering with leading early-stage investors, digital agencies and academic programs, including Seedcamp (London), Grand Central Tech (NYC), Medill University’s Media Innovation and Entrepreneurship program (San Francisco), Alley Interactive (San Francisco, NYC), Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism at CUNY (NYC) and NYC Media Lab (NYC).

Today, Hacks/Hackers is announcing the details for Connect events in San Francisco, London, and NYC. San Francisco will take place on the weekend of Jan. 22 at the startup co-working space Runway, followed by events in London on the weekend of Feb. 5 at Rainmaking Loft, and New York City on the weekend of Feb. 26 at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Full details are on the Connect website.

Connect, which launched its first event in Germany in June, is an ambitious series that aims for every event to be designed and built by and for the community in which it runs. By collaborating with organizers from the extensive Hacks/Hackers chapter network, Connect benefits from a wealth of local experience ensuring events are highly-tailored and targeted to the local media landscape.

Hacks/Hackers is also working with chapter organizers to expand the program with planning  underway for events in Austin, Barcelona, Brussels, Miami, and Paris.
