Vaio has unveiled a new range of new laptops in Japan with focus on visual appeal. The C15 series laptops will be available in four colour combinations, which is also the USP of the series. The Vaio C15 series is reported to be available starting at JPY 66,800 (approx Rs 43,000), while the top end model will be price at JPY 94,800 (approx Rs 61,000). The prices of the laptops have not been revealed for other countries.
Vaio C15 series comes in colour combinations of White and Copper, Yello and Black, Orange and Khaki and Navy and Grey.
The customizable models come with either an Intel Core i3-5005U processor or a Celeron 3215U processor. The laptops will features a 1366×768 pixels 15.5-inch display and will run on 4GB RAM. C15 series laptops will be available with either a 500GB HDD or a 1TB Hybrid HDD. A customer can choose between three operating systems – Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Windows 10 Home 64-bit, or Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1 64-bit.
Other features of the series include sub-woofer speakers, a DVD drive, one HDMI port along with USB 3.0 connectivity options. Vaio also gives an option to choose between a screen with anti-glare or a regular screen.
Vaio was initially a brand of Sony, which was introduced in 1996. The company sold 95 per cent of Vaio’s shares to an investment firm “Japan Industrial Partners” in 2014 with a goal to restructure itself and focus on mobile devices. Sony holds a 5 per cent stake in Vaio (which is not an independent company) that sells computers in markets like USA and Japan.
