The 59-0 Alabama beating of Vanderbilt was significant in a few ways for Alabama's record book.
A few new marks were set involving both the offense and defense in the complete domination of a 3-0 Vanderbilt team. The quick rundown:
Alabama first downs
-- The 38 first downs broke the record set in 2014. The Tide had 36 that day.
Yardage differential
-- The 599-yard difference crushed the Alabama record dating back to 1973. It had 544 more in a 77-6 win over Virginia Tech that day.
Vanderbilt losing margin
-- It was the third largest loss in Vandy history. It was the largest differential since losing 66-3 to Alabama in 1979.
Alabama victory margin
-- The 59 points tied the SEC mark under Nick Saban. It also beat Texas A&M 59-0 in 2014.
Alabama rushing yards
-- The 496 from Alabama was the most of the Saban era. It had 501 before taking three knees at the end of the game. That would have still been one short of the 502 that is No. 5 in the Alabama record book (from 1974 in 52-0 win over Southern Miss). The safe school record is 748 from the 1973 win over Virginia Tech.
Turnover streak
-- Alabama has now gone 30 quarters without committing a turnover. That's the most ever in the program record book.
