Former Gators AD Jeremy Foley to serve as a Professor

Jeremy Foley to have a new role at UF starting in the fall semester.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Jeremy Foley continues to add new titles to his lengthy career at the University of Florida.

The College of Health and Human Performance announced Wednesday that Foley will serve as a Professor of Practice in Sport Leadership beginning in the fall semester at UF. He will also teach a seminar annually on leadership in athletics.

The former Gators athletic director retired from his job of the past 25 years in the fall and was replaced by Scott Stricklin on Nov. 1. Foley remains as Athletics Director Emeritus and will now add teaching to his schedule. According to a press release from UF's Department of Tourism, Recreation & Sport Management, Foley will join the sport management faculty and serve as an instructor in the sport management program, which enrolls approximately 300 undergraduates and 55 graduate students.

Foley started his career at Florida in 1976, fresh out of graduate school at Ohio University. He began as an intern in the ticket office and worked his way to athletic director in 1992. The Gators won 27 national titles during his tenure.
