Travel Tip: Farecasting Tools That Can Help You Find Low Airfare
It seems that we’re always searching for the lowest airfares—if they exist at all these days.
Fortunately, there are still some low fares to be found—you just need to know where to look.
Enter the art of farecasting—predicting the lowest airfare for a specific date and time.
There are a number of new websites and apps that can help you do just that.
Farecasting tools like FLYR, skypicker, and Hopper will let you know whether to buy now…or later.
Google Flights helps you see if you can save money by departing on certain days or weeks later, or using an alternate airport.
The best part? All of these sites and apps are free.
Fareness analyzes 250 million origin/destination/date combinations per day and then shows round trip fares for more than 190 departure dates at once.
My advice? Try out the different farecasting tools to see which ones you prefer.
Google Flights is pretty comprehensive, but keep in mind that you won’t find any American Airlines flights on Hopper—the airline won’t share data with the service.
