Animated ‘My Little Pony the Movie’ Gets Release Date

Film based on Hasbro toys and TV show will debut on Nov. 3, 2017 via Lionsgate

“My Little Pony the Movie” will gallop into theaters on Nov. 3 of 2017, Hasbro Studios and Lionsgate said Wednesday.

Kristin Chenoweth (“The Peanuts Movie) will provide the voice for a character that will star alongside the Mane 6 characters voiced by Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain and Ashleigh Ball.

Jayson Theissen is directing the film from a screenplay by Meghan McCarthy, writer and producer for the “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” animated series, which debuted earlier this year on the Discovery Family TV channel.

The story centers on Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Raritye embarking on a journey to save their home.

Stephen Davis and Brian Goldner produced “My Little Pony the Movie” for Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures.

Already set for that release date is Disney and Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok.”
