A bridge often used by drivers traveling between Waterloo and Conestogo will be closed for several weeks.

The Glasgow Street Bridge over the Conestogo River closed Thursday. Officials with Woolwich Township say it won’t reopen for three or four weeks.

Glasgow Bridge eroding

The closure is due to an “erosion problem” on the southwest part of the bridge which was exacerbated by recent rainfall.

Glasgow Street will remain open to local traffic on either side of the bridge.
