Two women face charges in connection with drugs and other contraband police allegedly found in their possession a month ago.

A Washington County detective wrote in court papers supporting charges against Stephannie A. Thompson, 37, of North Bethlehem Township and Lindsay A. Karpoff, 33, of Washington that officers encountered the women Nov. 14 while members of the sheriff’s office, the county drug task force and Bentleyville police were serving a felony arrest warrant for an unspecified person at an address on Pittsburgh Road.

Thompson reportedly had an outstanding bench warrant and several other warrants in Allegheny County, and police allegedly found 43 stamp bags of heroin and 13 empty stamp bags in her possession while arresting her.

The detective wrote an investigation showed the heroin “was brought to the house to be sold to potential customers.”

Officers allegedly found 19 Clonazepam pills, a hypodermic needle, a makeshift tourniquet and a crack pipe in Karpoff’s possession when they arrested her.

The detective also noted in court papers another Clonazepam pill was found on a picture frame near another person in the home, next to a cut straw, indicating “some type of transaction or exchange occurred.”

Thompson and Karpoff each face charges of possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia filed by summons Monday. Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for Jan. 10 before District Judge Curtis Thompson.
